Well, It's happened

I vowed I wouldn't start a blog until I had some kids....apparently I couldn't hold out! I blame Sarah mostly :) We'll see how long this lasts or how updated it will be.

Spencer and I are in a pretty exciting time in our lives. We've moved up to Salt Lake City for Spencer's schooling. He's in the Pharmacy PharmD/PhD program at the University of Utah. It's going well for him! He complains that it's TOO easy. Enjoy it while it lasts I say. A funny thing he told me the other day...He said his class took a test on basic chemistry principals and the average was 70%..."70%", he said. "70's kill people!" ha ha, I don't blame the class for not doing so well....mostly because chemistry stinks! Good luck with that Spencer!! And as if Spencer wasn’t busy enough, he’s also working at the University Pharmacy. He heard they were hiring a pharmacy intern so he went in to fill out an application and came out with a job! We couldn’t believe it. So school and work makes for a very busy hubby!

I'm working at LDS hospital as a Dietary Technician. It's going very well. I'm excited that I was able to find a job that coincided with my education! I love nutrition. My job has three parts to it: clinical, call center, and expediting. Clinical is my favorite because it involves the most interaction with the patients. This involves initial patient visits and follow-ups, nutrition status of the babies in the NICU, patient screenings and calorie counts. I also enjoy the call center because I get to help patients over the phone. LDS hospital is neat in the fact that our patients can order whatever they would like from our room service menu. That’s where the call center comes in. We help the patients get what they want while following their diet order and make sure they are also getting what they need. Expediting is basically the last line of defense. We check accuracy and make sure the patients aren’t getting anything their not suppose to get. Like the other day…a patient was allergic to watermelon but somehow it still ended up on their tray and was about to go up to their room. Well, good thing for expeditors! Anyway, I’ve only been here a little over a month so maybe that’s why I’m abnormally enthusiastic about my job. Spencer and I feel so blessed that we were able to find our jobs. We looked for so long and it was so discouraging at times, but the Lord didn’t forget about us!

High, apple-pie in the skyyyyyyyy.

You think this is high...
just wait until I get my own kid to throw...
